galleries and public spaces
Dances designed as durational installations for public spaces and site-specific gallery events are central to my body of work. These non-proscenium settings welcome viewers into a fluid space where they are free to encounter the work for the duration, and from shifting vantage points that they choose for themselves. The style and content of the performance invites the audience to slow down, observe deeply, and open themselves to a personal discovery of beauty and significance. - Peggy Baker
